Family Life services & Women's Resource Center is a Christian based, not-for-profit organization which is devoted to changing one life and saving another through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are funded through churches and private contributors in our area. Family Life Services is operated by volunteers under the supervision of Tim Durham, the Executive Director, and our Board of Directors.
Family Life Services is a licensed adoption agency by the State of Kansas. We facilitate the adoption process, provide home studies, and guidance to those interested in adoption. Our goal is to place children with loving, Christian families.
Here at Family Life Services we offer free pregnancy screenings which are self-administered. Our goal is to assist women through out their pregnancy from conception to parenthood and beyond. We encourage our clients who have a positive pregnancy screenings to enroll in our Healthy Beginnings program. Our purpose is to aid women physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually through this life-changing event. Our volunteers provide educational opportunities regarding abstinence, sexually transmitted diseases, and many other subjects as they are needed.
HEALTHY BEGINNINGS
Healthy Beginnings focuses on educating women regarding prenatal care and parenting skills. This dynamic program utilizes an award winning curriculum called "Earn While You Learn." Through the Healthy Beginnings program, participants receive an education while earning Mommy Money which they can spend in our Baby Store. The Baby Store contains maternity clothes, children's clothes up to size six, and baby items. It is a great resource for parents who are in this incredible program.
GUIDANCE SERVICES
We offer long-term marriage and family guidance to individuals, couples, and families. Issues we address include divorce care, relationships, financial issues, parenting issues and more. This guidance is provided by interns and Tim Durham, our Director.
THE RIGHT FINISH
Family Life Services & Women's Resource Center offers a Christian finishing school for teens. It provides them with the tools and information they need to make good decisions. Topics include proper etiquette, developing healthy, appropriate relationships, sexuality, and ends with a "High Tea."
WORK of ART
Work of Art is a post-abortion ministry to women who have experienced abortion. It assists women in the grieving process to find mental and spiritual healing. This program focuses on the value of the woman who has experienced abortion, allows them the opportunity to openly grieve the loss of their baby and to heal mentally, physically, and spiritually. Work of Art has founded a Memorial in Memory of the Unborn Children which is located at Parker Cemetery in Arkansas City, Kansas.
